Pickled Spiced Apples
Pickled Spiced Apples

Servings: 16 oz jar
Ingredients:
- 1-2 apples, cores removed and thinly sliced
- ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
- ¼ cup white wine vinegar
- ½ cup water
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 ½ tsp salt
- 2-3 cardamom pods, lightly crushed
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3-4 allspice berries
Directions:
- In a small saucepan, add the vinegars, maple syrup, salt, cardamom pods, cinnamon stick, allspice berries, and water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, then cut the heat and allow to cool slightly
- To a jar, add the sliced apples. Pour in the warm brining liquid and make sure all the apples are submerged. Fit loosely with a lid and allow to come to room temperature, then place in the fridge.
- Before consuming, allow the apples to quick-pickle for at least 20-30 minutes. Keep in the fridge for up to 1 month.
