Espresso Martini with Sumo Citrus-Infused Tequila

Ingredients:

Sumo citrus-infused tequila
  • 1 ½ cups silver tequila
  • ½ sumo citrus, cleaned and sliced
Espresso martini
  • 1 oz coffee liqueur
  • 1 oz espresso or strong coffee, cooled
  • ½ - ¾ oz simple syrup (depends how sweet you like it)
  • Sumo citrus peel
  • Coffee beans, for garnish

Directions:

  1. SUMO CITRUS-INFUSED TEQUILA: In a jar, add the sumo citrus slices and tequila. Seal and place in the jar for 24-48 hours. Strain through a cheesecloth or fine mesh sieve and keep in the fridge until ready to use.
  2. ESPRESSO MARTINI: 5-10 minutes before making the cocktail, place a coupe glass in the freezer.
  3. In a cocktail shaker, add the sumo-citrus infused tequila, coffee liqueur, espresso, and simple syrup (if using). Add a large handful of ice.
  4. Lid the cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for a minute, or until the shaker is very cold.
  5. Remove the glass from the freezer, and rub the citrus peel around the lip of the coupe, squeeze to release some of the sumo citrus fragrance.
  6. Strain the espresso martini into the coupe. Garnish with espresso beans.
